The signs that it is time to act.
The site is slow
Pages take several seconds to appear, particularly on mobile, and the Core Web Vitals scores are in the red.
Updates are frightening
Every plugin or theme update risks breaking a page. So nobody updates anything any more.
Too many plugins
Dozens of plugins, some no longer used, some overlapping, some no longer maintained by their author.
Every change is a project
Changing a simple layout takes hours in the page builder, or breaks the display on mobile.
The site has been hacked
An intrusion, injected content or a warning from Google: the sign of a foundation that has become too fragile.
The design has aged
The site no longer reflects the company, and the theme bought back then makes it impossible to move on.
Why move off page builders.
Elementor, Divi and WPBakery made building sites accessible. The price is paid afterwards: very heavy generic code, content locked into the builder's own format, and total dependence on one publisher. Switching the builder off often leaves broken pages or pages filled with unreadable codes. It is known, without affection, as “shortcode soup”.
A page builder saves time in the first month. It costs time in every month that follows.
Our approach: extract your content cleanly, arrange it in a clear structure, and display it through a bespoke WordPress theme. Your team keeps a simple admin area, and the site gets its speed back.
Clean up or rebuild: the honest decision.
| Clean-up | Full rebuild | |
|---|---|---|
| When? | Healthy foundation, satisfactory design, specific problems | Page builder, purchased theme, dated design, fragile site |
| What we do | Clearing out plugins, optimisation, hardening | A new bespoke theme, content migrated and restructured |
| Design | Kept | Rethought |
| Result | A site stabilised for a few years | A fresh foundation, built to last |
We do not sell a rebuild where a clean-up will do. The audit beforehand exists precisely to settle that, with figures to back it up.
How we rebuild.
- 01
Audit the existing site
Plugins, theme, performance, security, content and Google positions: we know exactly what to keep, what to fix and what to leave behind.
- 02
Inventory the URLs and the search visibility
Every indexed page, the most visited ones and those receiving links are listed. None will be forgotten when we switch over.
- 03
Extract and clean the content
Text, images, articles and products are recovered, stripped of the builder's code and reorganised into a clear structure.
- 04
Develop the bespoke theme
Design, templates and admin area built around your content, on a test environment you sign off.
- 05
Plan the 301 redirects
Every old URL points to its new address. Removed pages redirect to the closest content.
- 06
Switch over and monitor
Go-live, sitemap submission, and checks on indexing and errors in Google Search Console over the following weeks.
Migrating to WordPress from another platform.
From Wix or Squarespace
Content and images recovered, rebuilt to measure, and you become the owner of your site and its hosting once more.
From Joomla or Drupal
Articles, pages, categories and users migrated to a modern, maintainable WordPress structure.
From another online shop
Products, customers and order history carried over into a bespoke WooCommerce shop.
From a bespoke site
When the previous provider has disappeared or the code is no longer maintainable, we take the content across and start again on a documented foundation.
With an eye on what comes next.
A well-run rebuild is not only about catching up. It is the moment to structure the site for SEO and for generative engines (GEO), to prepare a connection to Odoo, or to expose content through an API for a future mobile application. We are not rebuilding yesterday's site more prettily: we are building the one for the next five years.
